Rudri Puja & Lakh Batti Prajjwalan Housewarming Ceremony
We were invited by the Panthi family to attend their Rudri Puja and Lakh Batti Prajjwalan housewarming ceremony in Epsom, Victoria.
It was my first time experiencing a Hindu housewarming ceremony like this in person. The day felt peaceful, respectful, and deeply meaningful — filled with prayer, family, food, culture, hospitality, and blessings for a new home.
Most of my time was spent close to the ceremony area, watching the rituals, the lights, the offerings, and the way everyone came together with care and respect.
This gallery captures the feeling of that day: a home being blessed, a family sharing an important moment, and a quiet cultural story that felt beautiful simply to be part of.
